LUCA CALVANI: “ I LIKE MEAN GIRLS”

The Winner of Celebrity Survivor reveals his weak points. And here shows his style, only to GRAZIA

Luca Calvani is an apprentice seducer. He tries to understand what kind of person you like, and then he puts it up for you. Do you like the gentleman type? Luca will catch your falling scarf before it even touches the floor. You like the maverick type. He will play mysterious, cigarette in hand and rough manners. Luca, 33 years old, likes to play with ambiguity.

But maybe is just a kid who hasn’t decided who he wants to be. He is shy, and you could make of this uncertainty his charm. He is someone that hides well.  To understand him well, you sort of have to peel off a character at the time.

Luca, I believe that you are playing many parts, so that you won’t be stuck with the only one you have, the winner of “Celebrity Survivor” the most watch and discussed reality show in Italy. Are you afraid that you’ll always be “LucafromtheIsland” all one word?

The risk is there, I know. Also cause most of my “celebrity” has come with the show and not before.

I didn’t know who you were; I don’t follow reality shows on TV.

Me neither, I had never seen the island before; it’s not the kind of show that interests me.

It’s not nice to the show that made his fortune…

Oh, eternally grateful, believe me…

So up until the day before yesterday you were almost unknown, and as of today, you have released interviews were you reveal very private and personal stuff. Does it hurt?

Yes it does, but I wanted to clarify a few things.

You spoke about your parent’s death.

I think I needed to face that subject, sooner or later, in that interview I did it on my terms.

Media exposure as therapy, do you actually believe that helps?

I’m not alone; my siblings keep an eye on me. If I reveal stuff that’s too personal, they tell me. My sister had to once, anyway, I only gave bits. I don’t sell my truth…

Luca, you look at me as if you wanted to get something out of me.

I’d like to learn how to look at others. I’m sick of being looked at.
